What is CPD?
CPD (Career Professional Development) is an approach of ideas and techniques which can help you develop your own learning and skills and further progress within the conflict management training sector. The aim of any CPD Trainer Workshop should be to produce results – professional development should open doors. Continuing to improve your own skills can help this happen. With perseverance and dedication and by continuing to update your personal skills you be recognised as a professional in your sector.
Who is this event recommended for?
All trainers, facilitators, assessors, etc who currently deliver training in any sector and who want to learn new skills to further enhance and improve their training delivery and build confidence.
Why attend this event?
As trainers, facilitators, assessors, etc it is essential to improve our level of competence through CPD and refresh and develop our skills from time to time. Otherwise skill fade or the tendency to use the same methods of training delivery simply because it works will set in. It is important for trainers to be able to identify the gaps in their current professional competence and that is why, we at Quell continually attend events and provide individuals with new ideas and opportunities to develop and learn new and improved ways of delivering training.
It is evident that demand for professional training has increased in recent years, and the requirement from Awarding / Governing Bodies for trainers to develop their own skills is now more frequently being emphasised.
After recently speaking to these Bodies on CPD for trainers, it was agreed that Quell in-house certification through our new events can be seen as clear notification that trainers are developing their skills. Not only are these Bodies looking for development, but current and future clients & businesses are also looking for demonstration of CPD.
Event Outline:
The event will go back to basics and address new methods of training delivery. It will look at S.M.A.R.T. methods of assessment to ensure we think of the issues we may face when designing, implementing and delivering our training. On completion of the event, attendees will have a greater knowledge and understanding of:
- Why we assess our learners
- How we address negativity within the learning environment
- How we encourage and gain trust in our learners
- How we can use the training cycle to improve our overall performance, confidence and training delivery
- What challenges and issues we can encounter as a trainer and how do we overcome these.
Attendees will be awarded an internal CPD certificate in Improving Your Session Delivery & Building Confidence to demonstrate they are continuing to improve and develop their skills as a trainer.
Facilitator:
Will Holland – Head of Training, Quell
Will trains future facilitators on an ongoing basis throughout the year, inclusive of being actively requested to assess already qualified trainers in various organisations. He believes that being a trainer can be a very demanding occupation and can be difficult at times when dealing with so many different people with various standards and beliefs. He supports experienced and new trainers through sound advice and direction.
