A lot of organisations’ and their members of staff tend to take their personal safety for granted thinking nothing will ever happen to them. Personal safety training is designed to promote not only awareness of the potential risks an individual could face, but it is also helps build confidence to react safely and professionally to situations therefore resolving or escaping the possible threat.
Our training is specifically tailored to your sector. It uses recent, real-life incidents as a basis around which effective methods and skills are taught which are proven to reduce the level of risks faced in aggressive or threatening situations. We use in-depth discussions, practical group work and realistic scenarios to ensure everyone is prepared to confidently deal with a real-life situation.
On completion of the personal safety training, each attendee will have the ability to act accordingly and use proven skills and techniques to effectively ensure their personal safety in any given situation.

Who is this workshop recommended for?
All staff/employees that have identified a risk or are concerned about their Personal Safety will benefit from this training. The training is designed to promote the awareness and increase confidence levels if confronted with situations which have an element of risk. The training takes in to consideration the key problems anyone could face and then introduces effective and realistic tools to enable not only recognition of a situation escalating but realistic tools to remain safe. This training does provide the vital skills to protect both the organisation and member of staff from potential harm.
Workshop Outline:
The training assists attendees in learning the key elements of Personal Safety and will help them to develop their knowledge, skills and attitude to effectively manage situations when working alone. On completion of the training attendees will have a firm understanding and knowledge of skills and techniques to:
- Understand the escalation of aggressive natures through recognition.
- Identify what can escalate a situation, and heighten the levels of risk
- Use and learn from a personal safety training model which can assist in improving your ‘Personal Safety Risk Awareness’.
- Demonstrate the use of effective, plausible excuses and reasons to escape potentially volatile situations.
- Key skills on how to park, drive, use of public transport and walk, inclusive of tools if being followed.
- Taking control of the environment or situation when on a meeting or home visit.
- Contingency planning and the ability to proactively gain support, the “what if” scenario.
- Equipment and techniques which can assist in reducing risk if a situation occurs.
- Demonstrate the use of skills and techniques to calm a difficult or threatening situation.
This workshop will utilise scenario based learning and realistic case studies which will further enhance the training.
Certification: Attendees will be awarded an internal certificate in Lone Working, valid for 2 years.

Over the years Will has had a vast amount of experience within various sectors in dealing with aggressive natures, and threatening situations that escalate into physical assault. He has actively worked with several associations and organisations in implementing this training. He advocates training which employs realistic and proven skills and techniques, which can help protect the organisation and staff from litigation or damaged reputation.
