Managing Lone Workers Training – Ensuring your staff’s safety

lone-workingHeading up a team brings a range of responsibilities including a duty to ensure the wellbeing and safety of staff.

With the advent of the “The Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007”, all organisations that employ staff are bound by a Duty of Care, to ensure that all reasonable measures have been taken and are in operation to ensure the health and safety of their employees at all times.

For the first time, companies and organisations can be found guilty of corporate manslaughter as a result of serious management failures resulting in a gross breach of a duty of care.

This course will clearly and succinctly explain legislation which is pertinent to those who are responsible for lone workers and will increase awareness of legal duties and policies which should be in place.

It aims to increase your knowledge and awareness of Managing Lone Workers Training and ensuring that you prevent, deter or defuse incidents occurring.

The training will help you to set up systems which reduce risk and advise you as to how to best support your staff following an incident of work place violence.

Case studies and discussion will further enhance this training.

On completion of the workshop, attendees will have developed a better understanding of strategies used in assessing and reducing the risk of violence for lone working staff and will be equipped with the skills needed for supporting lone working staff in the event of a work related incident.

The workshop will cover the following key objectives:

  • Identifying the factors which contribute to making a safer environment for staff and customers or service users to operate within – risk assessments.
  • Appreciation of the legislation and policies in relation to lone working.
  • Developing and sharing of good practice.
  • Preparing for potential incidents (the “what if” scenario.)
  • Supporting staff following an incident of work related violence, (post-incident management)
