What differentiates Quell from other training providers?

Quell on Conflict Management:

This type of training has been delivered through many different methods over time and it has also been described to organisations in other diverse methods. However, it is an excellent subject that can be delivered providing you understand the meaning behind the term ‘Conflict Management’ and understand how this tool can help any organisation that faces any problems internally or externally through abuse, threat and assaults. We as an organisation understand that many face these situations, but there can also be a slight tendency to take them as part of the job or deny they exist.  Unfortunately, if not addressed properly then these can escalate and develop into situations that we can never turn the clock back on.  Our training takes the different roles of the organisation and then we design and implement effective skills to help recognise and reduce the risk of these developing or occurring, therefore ensuring your organisation and members of staff are protected.

Quell on Physical Intervention:

This is not ‘Control & Restraint’ or any form of Martial Arts, aggressive skills or even the use of a Punching bag to incite your aggressive survival skills, but Physical Intervention (PI) is simple, yet effective, non-pain compliant skills.  These can be used by any age group or size of person to again any age or size of person to protect themselves safely without encouraging the aggressor to become more violent towards them or a member of staff or the organisation as a whole. The form of techniques that we have adopted, have been medically and legally assessed and are therefore accredited, whereas a large number of physical techniques are not. Also these skills have been specifically designed to suit many different roles within the workplace from security, transport, education, care sector and health trusts (NHS).  So it is a recognised skill that when combined with conflict management can be another effective tool to protect you, your colleagues, your clients and the industry you are working within.

Quell on Lone working:

Interpretation of the phrase ‘Lone worker’ can be seen as someone that is in total isolation from the beginning of their work until they finish, or they are carrying out a role that has no immediate support available throughout.  However, a lone worker can be anyone that has to work for a period of time alone and without the aide of assistance on hand to help if an incident or a matter of concern arises.  Our approach to this is to give these employees realistic and proven skills to enable them to deal with the situation effectively and therefore leave safely.  Situations that could have a level of physical harm can therefore be dealt with and reduce the risk to the employee and in turn ensures the organisation is covered against any form of allegation of mistreatment or negligence, or not providing proper training as required for the role.

Quell on Personal Safety:

When we discuss the subject of ‘personal safety’ staff and organisations sometimes are known to follow one or other of the following lines: ‘we will worry about it when it happens’ or ‘it will never happen to me’. Unfortunately, these situations do happen and examples of situations were individuals personal safety can be threatened are, an individual being held within their own car or within someone’s home or business with no clear knowledge of how to deal with the situation.  The subject of Personal Safety should not be taken lightly and for an individual to feel threatened, cornered or trapped is a very serious situation.  We look at simple key tools that will assist anyone in learning how to assess a situation and then use realistic methods on how to leave and at the same time do not escalate the situation, therefore making it accessible to return in the future if necessary.

Quell on Train the Trainer:

Some people think that training is easy and can be done by anyone, but when you take into account that standing in front of an audience, however small or large the group may be, it is very high on the list of the most disliked things people have to do within their work or personal roles.  Being a trainer is difficult and expectations are high in today’s theatre of training from both the students being trained and the organisations requesting the training and we in Quell agree that this should be the case.  Being a professional trainer is not who wears the best suit or talks the most, but a professional trainer is someone who designs and plans effectively for the presentation and delivery of the material and at the same time makes the experience enjoyable and interesting.  We offer this on all our courses as we do what we preach and whether it is an individual or an organisation that requires our services we always support and help them through the process to enable them to learn and be able to deliver with a higher level of confidence.

Quell on Security:

We have worked within this Industry for many years and have seen the changes come thick and fast.  We also know that this will continue to be the trend for some considerable time in the future.  Even with these on going developments and changes we have grasped the concepts introduced and made over the years and developed with them.  We fully understand the degree of fears that can be associated with them, inclusive of the concerns many people have from organisations trying to get to grips with the different roles required to operate legally, through to individuals requiring the qualification to gain employment. The requirements are clear and the licensing is strict, but our relationships with all awarding bodies and licensing authorities are strong which ensures we can always deliver.
